About Jo Quincey

Certified Zentangle Teacher
I am a Certified Zentangle Teacher and founder of Zenjo Zentangle, based in Wales, UK. My journey into the world of Zentangle began in 2016 as a personal escape from work stress. I quickly realised how special Zentangle is and wanted to share it with others and, in 2017, I trained as a CZT in the USA. With a unique career background as an emergency nurse and then a police officer, I bring a deep compassion and understanding to my teaching. My teaching style is passionate and supportive, focused on the wellbeing benefits of creating Zentangle and encouraging students to discover their creative potential. Since deciding to teach Zentangle full-time in 2019, I've shared this easy to learn, mindful artform and its creative benefits with students, in-person and online, across the globe, including in the USA, UK, India, Italy, Greece, and Ireland. Beyond my own art, I enjoy walking in the beautiful Welsh countryside, nature, reading, learning and time spent with my dog, Elsa, all of which inspire my teaching and personal practice. I enjoyed this conversation so much. Jo’s comment about not needing to “finish” a piece & just enjoying the moment resonated with me so much as this is something I struggle with. This is such a great retreat!

Great discussion and tangling demonstration Jo. Perfect for both experienced tanglers like myself and for people who are only just learning about zentangle. I enjoyed tangling along while listening. Loved seeing all your beautiful tiles too.

Thanks Jo and Amie, what a thought-provoking and inspiring interview. Great to hear your explanations of Zentangle vs doodling Jo, as that’s something I get asked a lot. And whilst there are overlaps, Zentangle is so much more! Thanks to you I’m all inspired with my Zentangle practice again now Jo – huge gratitude coming your way.
